Degummed Throwsters Silk Waste
Thrown Silk Waste happens when things go wrong at the mill. The fibers
get tangled around the machinery or in some other way become unable to
be used for finished yarn. Since this product has been degummed you will
be able to easily dye it! You will find several different types of fiber,
narrow pencil roving that is shiny, long and smooth, thicker rovings
that are wider, sections of fiber that have some twist in them -making
them a little kinky and finally tangled sections of fiber. These can
be used for spinning or by fiber artist and quilters for embellishing.
FAQs
What is crimp?
Crimp is the natural waviness or curl of the wool fibers. Each breed grows
fleece with a characteristic crimp pattern.
What does Ready-To-Spin mean?
The fibers have not been combed or carded. But they are fully cleaned
and de-haired, thus Ready-To-Spin.
