Indigo Blues - Handwoven & Hand-dyed Cotton Fabric
Indigo dyed handwoven, fine cotton fabric.
Each piece is approximately 36" long x 48" wide
The fabric that I dye is from West Bengal, India. It is called muslin and is handwoven. This is some of the finest woven fabric - it said that an entire sari length (from five to nine yards (4.5 meters to 8 meters) in length and two to four feet (60 cm to 1.20 m) in width), can be pulled through a wedding band. It is true as I have seen this! I had the opportunity to visit the facility where this fabric is handwoven in 2017.
This fabric is 150s count cotton - extremely lightweight and lovely to touch.
It has been dyed in my 55-gallon natural ferment indigo vat at my studio in Roanoke Virginia.
The indigo for my vat comes from Living Blue in Bangladesh.
When you purchase this fabric you are getting something very special. At the same time, you are helping to support the Handloom Industry in India and the Indigo growers of Bangladesh!
Please note that the color of the fabric may vary from what you see on your computer screen.
