Natural Dyes - Dyer's Chamomile from my garden 1-ounce package
$ 12.00
Dyer's Chamomile (Cota tinctoria) is grown organically in my dye garden in Roanoke, VA.
Dried flowers, sold by the ounce!
Also known as Golden Marguerite, Dyer's Chamomile has been used for centuries throughout Europe and Central Asia as a stable yellow dye. It works very well on protein fibers (wool and silk) for the richest color, but can also be used on cellulose.
Use at 50% WOG (weight of goods) for a medium-to-strong yellow. This sunshine yellow is very lightfast.
Requires a mordant.
Dip the dyed goods into an iron bath for olive greens. Overdye with Madder for tangerine, and Indigo for deep greens.
