Dyer’s Coreopsis flowers are grown organically in my dye garden in Roanoke, VA.
Once harvested the flowers are sun-dried.
Color – orange, red, or yellow
Dyer’s Coreopsis works best on wool or silk but can be used on cotton.
1 ounce of dried flowers (30 grams) will dye 6 - 8 ounces of mordanted goods (170 - 250 grams) to a lovely medium shade
A pinch of Soda Ash added to the dyebath will make it redder.
A small amount of lemon juice will turn the bath yellow.
