Dried and Crushed Japanese Indigo Leaves - Persicaria tinctoria

$ 15.00

Japanese indigo (Persicaria tinctoria) leaves from my garden in Roanoke, VA. Harvested by hand, sun-dried, then crushed.
No pesticides are used on my plants.
The crushed, dried leaves work best with protein fibers, silk and wool.
The indigo must be extracted from the leaves. This will require both Soda Ash and Thiourea Dioxide.
I highly recommend John Marshall's book "Singing the Blues"!
