Natural Dyes - Logwood Shavings
Logwood Shavings - come from the heartwood of the Bloodwood Tree (Haematoxylum campechianum) which is found in Mexico, Central America, Columbia, Venezuela and the Guyanas. Belize grew out of 17th century logging camps. Today Logwood dye is an important source of haematoxylin, used in histology for staining slides.
